THE witch’s garden ORACLE CARD || THE MODERN GODDESS ORACLE DECK

Get back to the basics.

A witch’s garden might look like any other garden to the untrained eye. The difference is that the herbs, flowers, and vegetables in a witch’s garden are grown for magical purposes.

If you draw the Witch’s Garden card, it’s time to simplify your life. Get back to the basics. When did your life get so complicated? It doesn’t have to be that way. The plants in the garden grow with water, soil, and sunshine. What simple pleasures make you bloom?

The Witch’s Garden card could also be a nudge to start pursuing the next phase of your growth. Have you been stuck in a toxic loop? Does your life feel like you’re running on a treadmill—you’re sweating like crazy, but you’re not going anywhere?

Are you having the same fights with your partner, complaining about the same issues with your boss, or trying to make something happen by repeating the same thing over and over?

Break the cycle, Goddess. Do something different. Whatever you’ve been doing, try doing the opposite. Things can’t keep going on like this.

Practical Magic for the Modern Goddess

To start your own witch’s garden think about the spells, rituals, and ceremonies you’d like to do in the next few months. What herbs will you use in your potions or tie up in herb bundles for incense? What flowers are special to you? What kinds of petals would you love to sprinkle over your altar or use in charm bags for your love spells? Maybe you’d like to grow herbs to use for tea.

If you can, plant your seeds during the new moon or the waxing moon. Those energies will support the growth and health of your garden.

You also can include magic as you’re planting your garden by burying runes, slips of paper with intentions written on them, and crystals in the soil to help your plants grow.
