THE Séance ORACLE CARD || THE MODERN GODDESS ORACLE DECK

Practice caution, Goddess.

A séance is when a group of people collectively use their energy to summon or communicate with energetic forces from the spirit realm. Some goddesses love participating in séances. Some discover it’s not their cup of tea. Just like anything else in magic, energy can yield both positive and negative results. There is an element of uncertainty when performing a séance. You never know what exactly what will happen once you begin. You can’t unhear something or unsee something. It’s there, wedged in your memory for the rest of your life.

When you draw the Séance card, consider this as a big caution sign. You’re entering a period in your life where you will be challenged.

If this road is someplace you feel you must explore, Goddess, by all means, keep moving forward. Just make sure you come prepared. Be on your guard. You are smart enough and brave enough to slay any dragon you happen to cross paths with, but you must be vigilant. Keep your eyes open. Listen to your internal warning system.

You make up the rules in this strange new land, and you don’t have to be a hero if you don’t want to. There’s no shame in making a narrow escape. In this unknown world, you may find that the best course of action is to go off the path and run like hell. Just be sure to always run forward. Running is always faster than walking, and you know you’ll run a lot faster when something’s chasing you.

If you must go down this road, do whatever it takes to stay one step ahead of danger.

Practical Magic for the Modern Goddess

The full moon and Samhain are excellent times to perform your own personal séance. Light an herb bundle or incense and invite one of your spirit guides to send you messages through the smoke. Frankincense or Dragon’s Blood resin are great choices for a séance.

You can say something as simple as, “Spirit Guide, if you have a message for me right now, please make yourself known. I am ready to listen.”

You can ask the spirit guide to reveal who it is or what kind of energy it holds. Say something like, “Show me a card that represents who you are.” Then draw a tarot or oracle card. That should give you more information about who this spirit guide is and what it can help you with.

Then sit and wait. Write down any thoughts, symbols, or emotions that come to you. When the incense stops smoking or you feel complete, you can thank the spirit guide and end your séance.

If you use incense, make sure the room you’re in has proper ventilation and there are no children or pets around to inhale the smoke. Some kinds of incense and resins can cause allergic reactions. Use this magical tool with care.
