This Month We Honor AUGUST’S Sturgeon Moon
Other names for this moon include: barley moon, red moon, grain moon, fish moon, and corn moon.
This month’s moon got its name because August is the time of year people would fish for sturgeon, and reap the first harvest of the season in preparation for the cooler months. It’s a popular time to harvest barley, grain, and corn.
Important Dates:
July 31st - New Moon + Special Black Moon
August 1st - Lammas, Lughnasadh, or August Eve
August 7th - First Quarter Moon (Waxing Moon)
August 15th - Full Moon
August 23rd - Third Quarter Moon (Waning Moon)
August 30th - New Moon
(Upcoming Celebrations - September 22st - Mabon, or the Autumn Equinox)
Intention: TO BASK IN THE GRATITUDE OF THE BOUNTY.
The August moon is a time for being grateful for everything you’ve co-created with the universe this year. You can look at everything you’ve accomplished and trust that when you put your intention on abundance and gratitude, more will surely come. Pamper yourself and your loved ones during this lunar cycle.
I REJOICE IN THE BOUNTY. I HONOR MYSELF AND MY LOVED ONES WITH THE PHYSICAL PLEASURES AND TREASURES OF THIS WORLD.
